Conferences are coming!
An e-mail with a Google survey was sent out so you can sign up for conference time slot preferences. Time slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. If you feel a conference is not necessary at this time, please send me an e-mail by the end of the week. Otherwise I will be assigning a time slot. Your cooperation is appreciated.
Cookies for Books Sale
We will be having a cookie sale the week on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 19th and 20th during all lunch hours. My mom, Mrs. Gladieux, has quite a reputation for her sugar cookie recipe and has baked for my classes and staff every holiday for the past several years. Football cookies (in honor of the upcoming OSU and U of M game) will be $1 a piece and all proceeds will be used to replace lost or stolen books from our classroom library.
Culture Presentations in S.S.
Presentations will begin tomorrow and should conclude on Wednesday. We will be starting The Americas book beginning with the chapter on the United States. Students are expected to read the text once on their own at home and once in class. The textbook is available online and students have been given a personal password and username to access it. Zondle.com will be used provide students with a study guide.
Food Drive
Student Council is holding their annual nonperishable food drive from Monday, November 18th-22nd. My homeroom class has won the school-wide competition the last two years, and I'd like a repeat this year. Winners receive a pancake breakfast during school. For the contest I divide the class into two teams, OSU and U of M fans. Please mark your can items with an "O" or "M" so we can keep a tally of which fans contribute the most food. My Buckeye buddies have won the classroom competition both years (GO BUCKS!!!)
Mandatory Chromebook Parent Meeting
Students' parents are required to attend a meeting on November 21st at 7:00 in the gymnasium in order to be eligible to receive a Chromebook in January. Please see the building website for more details.
