Happy February!
Being that we have had very little routine in our schedule due to snow days, many students are struggling with work completion. In the event we experience a cancellation, please make sure your child reads and finishes any previously assigned work. Your support is always appreciated.
Many students have been e-mailing me at night. Even though I do work at home, I am not always on my computer and don't see those messages until I enter school in the morning. If your child experiences a problem with their Chromebook, they must call or e-mail the help desk. In the morning, when the tech. team arrives, they make a list of students they will speak with during the day to assist with resolving issues. Meanwhile, students are expected to go to the library as soon as they enter the school to pick up a working Chromebook. This will allow the work flow to continue even if the computer is not cooperating.
Being that we are trailblazers, I am very flexible with assignments and due dates. The goal is to complete the work and learn from it. The learning curve is extremely larget right now, and we all need to hang in there together.
Reminder - Chromebooks are educational tools, not to be used for socializing and uneducational games. E-mail accounts are not to be used to talk about other students behind their backs or chat about who likes who. We have attempted to explain that students' personal devices such as Ipods/pads, cell phones, and gaming systems have a different purpose and different uses than the Chromebooks. .
I have included two links below on the topic of technology. Happy viewing!
