Hello Everyone!
As we continue to work out the glitches with the Chrome books, please contact the Help Desk (734-850-60950 or ([email protected]). Although I would love to help with fixing the computers, I have to leave that to the professionals at the tech. center. It is the child's responsibility (at home and at school) to contact them when a problem arises, and then a tech. team member either e-mails them or visits them personally in class the next day to assist, depending on the issue. Data is kept to see what kinds of problems are being encountered. This information allows the Help Desk team to figure out if the issue is with the child, the device, the internet connection, etc.
If you haven't done so already, please spend some time looking at the home (Click the house in the upper left hand corner ) splash page. This page has been loaded with pertinent information that will assist you with getting familiar with the device and the district's expectations.
Exams - We will be piloting new 6th grade exams in S.S. and Reading. The scores do not count, so please do not worry.
S.S. - The above photos are from our human maps of Canada. As a means of differentiating instruction and addressing a variety of learning styles, we made maps of the 3 territories and 10 provinces of Canada in several different ways. For those children who need to be physically active to retain content, this physical map helped them to see where each of the regions were located in relation to one another. Papers with the labels were randomly passed out and the kids had to position themselves to reconstruct the map. the audience members provided feedback and gave the map makers relative directions in order to ensure accuracy in their placement.
Thanks for reading!
Have a good eventing.
