6th Grade Award Winners
At the end of the year, teachers are asked to choose 2 students from each hour that we feel have either excelled in our content areas or have shown considerable growth during the year. An awards assembly is held in the gymnasium (May 27th) so that they may be acknowledged in front of their peers. These students are to be commended for their efforts. Mrs. Scheffer and I look forward to seeing what they accomplish in the future. We are so proud of you!!!

Google Hangout with Suriname, South America
Students posed questions related to Suriname's culture and climate. Former, Bedford foreign exchange student, Raviel Morris, facilitated the meeting with a 6th grade class at OS2 Wageningen School in Suriname, South America. In the second video, the Suriname students are singing their national anthem. This was truly a wonderful experience!

Camp Miaconda - C.O.P.E. (Challenging Outdoor Physical Experience)
This day is designed to help students learn teamwork, communication, and problem solving skills. The teams of 12 were given various challenges with very specific directions to work through. They were then encouraged to think outside of the box. They struggled the most with the human knot, but learned quickly that if one person took the lead and the rest listened and followed directions, the team was much more successful.
